Hey! This is Jesmine but there are a thousand and one others out there who calls her Jia Min too! She's (finally) 18 and is more than happy to be showered with gifts on the nineth day of the third month each year. She's currently mugging in Nanyang Junior College with a bunch of cute people in 1002, but she still loves and misses her alma mater, TKGS together with her dearest 4e1 very very much. She ditched her 4-years long CCA, netball, for singing - both in choir and as a soloist (Just don't ask her to sing Don't Cry For Me, Argentina. It's Marisa's new ploy to watch a free show! And I know poor Bren's sick of playing it!) She's been stuck in Alto 2 in choir for a good ol' 5 years while her dearest conductor is still deciding whether to leave her there or transfer her somewhere else, but she takes the performing role of a mezzosoprano as a soloist (and communicate her 3-octave range using her perfect pitch to her rocking friends who in turn gives her nicknames of innate objects such as tuning fork, piano and amplifier. :/) Oops, she nearly forgot to mention that she was a part of the Superwomen(Student Welfare) committee of the Prefectorial Board back in the good ol' TKGS days. She's awesomely proud to be an Latter-Day Saint, and savouring her last year as a Laurel before she gets kicked out of YW. She loves her family and friends to bits, and in her (very little) free time, adores chilling out with her friends, attend concerts, shopping (and window shopping too. Money don't fall from the sky, y'know.), singing, tinkling on the piano, blogging, FBing and there's so much more she'll prolly need a thousand pages for her to fill up her "LOVES&HOBBIES" section. Flowers, cute huggable soft toys, helium balloons and (hand-written) letters and notes are some of her favourite things.♥

PS: I can/can't believe you just spent/wasted 5 minutes of your life reading her introductory speech. Btw, she LOVES people who tag on her tagboard, so do make sure you let her know that you were here! Have an awesome day anyway! (:

2010 in a nutshell.

2010 been such an unexpected year.
I never thought I would've come this far this year, but I survived.
J1 all over again was such a scary experience at the beginning, but I made it through.

In 2010, I've failed, fell, picked up broken pieces of my life, mugged, partied, sung, conducted, cried, laugh, smiled, got into trouble, broken my own heart, amended for my mistakes, completed Personal Progress, played, succeeded, lost and won.

My entire family has been my main pillar of support. If it wasn't for them, I would've never have the courage to pick up from where I fall, to brave through J1 all over again. They encouraged me to repeat the year, to brave through the storm and become stronger than ever. They comforted me and perked me up when I felt weary and didn't want to move on with life because I was scared of what the future would hold. The ability to confide in a brother who was of similar age is simply comforting. The other has the ability to make me laugh despite our 6 years age gap. I know I haven't been the best daughter or sister because I'm hardly at home with them or even when I'm home, I end up spending time with my books or bed and I really am sorry about that. But in any case, thank you for everything you've provided me with - physically, mentally and spiritually.

It's been a wonderful year spent with a cute bunch of classmates in 1002 running up and down from lectures to tutorials, watching you guys doing PW and spending time together. I was scared I couldn't fit in at the beginning of the year, but you guys made me feel comfortable and part of this whole class. I'm really glad and though it's gonna be a tough 2011 ahead, I'm sure we'll make it through. All my subject tutors have been great - I haven't been picked on just because I'm different from the rest.

The times spent in with NYJChoir has been awesome. I guess by now most people would've known that singing's been a major part of my life and having to let it go temporarily (at this point of time) is asking me to remove a piece of flesh from my body. The days spent in choir certainly allowed me to grow and gain so much experience, more than I could ever ask for - in.harmoNY and Olomouc are some of the two most precious memories I hold close to my heart for this year. Singing a solo in front of an audience was a dream come true for me, and knowing that a good number of my friends who showed up to support me was simply heartwarming. I know I haven't been a great student conductor, but I'm so grateful to be given the privilege to work alongside with Gabriel Chew to serve the choir. I know I can be too fierce and demanding at times (And I'm really sorry about it) when it comes to the production of music (because I wanted the best out of it), but deep down, I know that everyone has tried their best and I can't ask for more. Being given the chance to conduct a choir has been something I never dared to dream about in the past, but I'm grateful for this (possibly) once in a lifetime opportunity given to me. I will never forget two special moments - one, the day I conducted for CCA Bazaar 2010 because it was the first time in my whole life conducting in front of an audience and two, the day I conducted the six songs consecutively at the lobby of VCH just hours prior to in.harmoNY because I remember it was the day I could fully sense all the emotions bursting out from me as the choir sung - the feeling was just, indescribable. It has really been a rewarding experience. To Gabchew, it's been great knowing you and being SC alongside with you - doing warmups, going round ensuring sectionals were working out fine, teaching basses, putting songs together, staying up at ungodly hours to type out comments after comments and deciding how to improve the choir... I really miss doing all these together with you and you've been such a fantastic BFF! To Mr Cheow & TT, thank you for all the invaluable advices and teachings imparted to Gab and I throughout this period of time. We have gained so much from the both of you. And to all the teachers-ic we have/had - Mrs Lee, Miss Ang, Mr Chua, Miss Sum & Mr Ng, thank you for dedicating your time and effort to choir for the past two years I've been in choir, it's been truly wonderful.

To my choir exco members '09-10, you guys have been a major pillar of support in my JC life. Words just can't describe how I feel towards the whole bunch of you. Sure, we have our disagreements and disputes, but at the end of the day we'll manage to find a way to solve them. True, we tease each other over people, got into awkward & embarrassing situations, but we stick through thick and thin when people are down and lost. Maybe that's why we're close, because we know that we've each other to confide into when we're in need of help and share the happiness during joyous moments. I'll never forget the day when we got the results at the townsquare of Olomouc, how we were shedding tears of joy when it was announced that we attained the Gold for the folklore catogory. I miss our weekly friday dinners after choir where we end up chionging to the coffeeshop outside NY or to Bishan praying that food is still avaliable for us to eat, birthday celebrations where people starts throwing cakes at each other or reading fake love letters, mugging and hanging out together in the choir room, talking things out and letting off steam or just simply eating food baked by some other exco members. Thank you, to this whole bunch of BFFs, for being together with me in this amazing journey.

To my AMK ward youth/not so youthful young YSAs, it's been a great year together, getting to really know each of you way better than before. Thank you for all the support you guys have given me throughout the year, constantly telling me not to burn myself out because I always have the tendency to and making me sing during every possible occasion and time. (DCFMA, no less) It really helped to boost my confidence and make me feel happy. And I'm really happy hanging out with y'all - activities, dinner and all that sort of things. Though you guys say that I'm too busy to hangout with you guys because of everything else (I'm sorry okay!), but I'm thankful for you guys being there for me whenever I needed it.

To the rest of the churchies, it's been an awesome year with you guys. Attending weekly institutes never failed to perk me up, it's amazing how much I could learn within a short span of 1.5hours every week. And of course, there'll always be great company of friends, with Michael & Dennis trying to crack some lame joke, Shuan laughing at me everytime I arrive for the last 20minutes of the lesson, Amanda Xu texting me when I'll appear for institute, sharing ideas with Myra, Amanda Loh, Ally, Ying Er, Marie Low and the rest of the people... And how I've unknowingly been made to choose my own birthday cake unknowingly... (And carrying it all the way to Newton - that became the ultimate joke of the night.) Of course, all the firesides, activities, dances, sleepovers, outings and mugging in church prior to everyone else's A's that we had were superb too. Though some of you are going to BYU (Provo) or (Hawaii) next year, I really hope our friendship will remain this strong despite the distances betweeen us.

To Sabrina, Jessica, Ee Chien, Sakina, Grace, Yi Qian, Yi Ying, Fiona, Marianne, Elsa, Deborah, Zheng Yuan, Kenneth, Travis, Pavadee, Shi Han, Gloria Lim, Sherlyn, Zee, Nana, Meena, Valerie Chew, Yi Ting, Hui Chin, Kar Hui, Xintao, Lewis, Cheung Weng and the rest if I happen to forget you (Sorry it's close to 2am in the morning and as you can see my brain is close to dying.) whom I basically group under friends from my TKGS/NY days, thank you for being there for me when I need someone to rant to/for all the mugging session (because I can't study at home for nuts D:)/outings/heart-to-heart talks... Though you guys aren't the people whom I get to see as often as the groups of people mentioned above, but you guys have been some of the most important people in my life thus far because we managed to stay as close friends despite being in different schools/classes, how we still manage to meet each other despite our hectic schedules and most importantly how I am able to confide in you whenever I feel troubled over various reasons or share good news when there's one. Thank you for being there for me through the good and bad times.

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you
- For Good, Wicked

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the love, support and encouragements, for without them, I would not be who I am today.
2010 has been amazing with you guys.

2011 isn't going to be easy, and I know it.
There's so much I have to give up till the end of A levels.
But I know I will make it through no matter how much I have to go through.
I will not give up till I fought a good fight.
And I hope the people who've been supporting me will continue to do so.
Come December,
I'm going to pick up voice and piano again, and this time, I'll see that I'll succeed.

A levels, here I come! *charges*
:D

Happy 2011 in advance, because I'll be dancing my way to 2011. :D
