Hey! This is Jesmine but there are a thousand and one others out there who calls her Jia Min too! She's (finally) 18 and is more than happy to be showered with gifts on the nineth day of the third month each year. She's currently mugging in Nanyang Junior College with a bunch of cute people in 1002, but she still loves and misses her alma mater, TKGS together with her dearest 4e1 very very much. She ditched her 4-years long CCA, netball, for singing - both in choir and as a soloist (Just don't ask her to sing Don't Cry For Me, Argentina. It's Marisa's new ploy to watch a free show! And I know poor Bren's sick of playing it!) She's been stuck in Alto 2 in choir for a good ol' 5 years while her dearest conductor is still deciding whether to leave her there or transfer her somewhere else, but she takes the performing role of a mezzosoprano as a soloist (and communicate her 3-octave range using her perfect pitch to her rocking friends who in turn gives her nicknames of innate objects such as tuning fork, piano and amplifier. :/) Oops, she nearly forgot to mention that she was a part of the Superwomen(Student Welfare) committee of the Prefectorial Board back in the good ol' TKGS days. She's awesomely proud to be an Latter-Day Saint, and savouring her last year as a Laurel before she gets kicked out of YW. She loves her family and friends to bits, and in her (very little) free time, adores chilling out with her friends, attend concerts, shopping (and window shopping too. Money don't fall from the sky, y'know.), singing, tinkling on the piano, blogging, FBing and there's so much more she'll prolly need a thousand pages for her to fill up her "LOVES&HOBBIES" section. Flowers, cute huggable soft toys, helium balloons and (hand-written) letters and notes are some of her favourite things.♥

PS: I can/can't believe you just spent/wasted 5 minutes of your life reading her introductory speech. Btw, she LOVES people who tag on her tagboard, so do make sure you let her know that you were here! Have an awesome day anyway! (:

Hollywood is a place where they pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul

Painting session again today at Labrador Adventure Centre - This time Zee, Meena, Xuannie, Vivien and I were painting a NO PARKING lot. (Okay, I'll give you 5 mins to laugh your head off.) Seriously, I don't understand how painting this is supposed to be meaningful; someone enlighten me please thankyou. :)
Headed for Vivo for lunch subsequently with Zee and Meena - I was starving starving starving (from all the painting in the scorching sun) so we had awesome food yay! (or maybe it was because I was hungry, lol!), walked round' the area, wade in the pool when it was 1ish and the sun is smacked in the middle of the sky - the pool was surprisingly cool though. Yogurt before heading for home where I ended up napping and eating again. ): BAH BAD HABITS I NEED TO CHANGE THEM. D:
Just saw a LMGH posted by someone on FB:

"I thought my 18th birthday wouldn't be important.

My 15-year-old brother
gave me a gift that changed my mind. He bought me a necklace that he'd picked
himself. The engraved charm read "The best thing about having a sister is I
always have a friend."

My brother's genuine and overwhelming LGMH."

So sweet! :D If Jace/Jones ever does that on any birthday (my 18th is over! D:) to me my heart will melt in a gooey mess. But chances are like... (can count with your fingers). LOL.

Last day of SL tomorrow (finally!), but it also means...
SCRIPT CHECKING! AHHHHHHHHHH!
Okay, I know I'm very contradictory because first I want my results but now I don't because I feel a tinge of nervousness. (Okay I think that was an understatement, but yeah. :/)

May I get through this round.
Wait for my good news (I hope.)

Still waiting for the blocked nose/flu to go away. D: Throat's less dry, but I doubt I can sing tomorrow. Sigh.

Which reminds me I've to make one of those decision soon since script checking's tomorrow! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! D:

LGM(some)H(please). :D

Xoxo.

You've got me spinnin' round and round and round

Hello to my lovely O levels juniors,
Even though you shouldn't be here (You should be mugging your butts off at this time, seriously.)
All the best for the last 3 weeks and you'll experience what I'll call 'the temporary 2 months holidays' before tertiary education catches up with you.

And I know I keep procrastinating what I really want to get off my chest, but I think I'm holding it back for some reasons.
When I feel brave enough, I'll shoot. :)

Painting today wasn't all that bad (except the part where I've got paint on my limbs - mind you it's oil-based paint and I had to use thinner to wipe them off. D:)

More painting (and gardening tomorrow D:) (Where Jes' priceless expression comes in - okay I admit i did that due to boredom alright LOL :P)

The building's shaking now (literally).
(The hangin' light at the dining's swaying to the HDB's movement. D:)
Makes me a tad giddy, urgh.
(Of course it doesn't help when you're down with a bad blocked nose and sore dry throat. I feel like Sneezy, one of the 7 dwarfs in Snow White. - JESMINE STOP RUBBING THE NOSE OR IT'LL BE REDDER THAN RUDOLPH'S and Christmas ain't that near YET.)

Okay, off the com. Too giddy. ):

(Okay I'll post what the intended content tomorrow, I feel so sucky at this point that all I want to do is just plop on bed and konk out.)

Be true to your course, don't let go

It's a friday night and I'm just sitting in front of the computer, listening to the radio and chilling out on a cuppa blackcurrent drink while typing out this blog post. And everyone must be thinking how awesome I'm feeling at this point of time - stress free (almost) and carefree at this point of time, no tutorials, no PW, no mother tongue, nothing much that bothers me now.

Well, so basically, I've been using my time to hangout with people, meeting up for lunches and dinners, help the classmates with I&R, WR & OP, choir, shopping (and window shopping), chatting via all forms of medias... Okay basically I've been doing everything else apart from studying, (minus the laughing-at-my-juniors-doing-PW part cos I'm a nice senior and I try to help when they ask, so don't laugh at me! Heehee! :D)

School's butter rice and Jumbo Peach-flavoured Yami Yogurt with Zee and Meena today, helped the classmates with I&R in the library, Choir, RS VT Convention. Awesome friday. (:
Guess I'm tired for the night, I'll continue blogging tomorrow.
Something that had been lingering in my heart for quite a long time *hint hint*

For now, TGIF people! :D
(And hope you're enjoying the last few minutes of this lovely friday amidst the hazy weather which is making me prone to sneezing. D:)
18days to A levels for my dearest J2s, hang in there my favourite people in the world. Remember to believe in yourself and let your potential soar no matter how impossible you think it is at this point of time. I'd be rooting for you guys!
♥♥

Tomorrow will be a better day

I'm drinking apple juice now. :D

Okay that was a really lame way to begin, but yes, my promotional examinations officially ended a good 6 days ago and I'm finally back on the blogosphere world :D

Well, I can't say that promos was awesome, but I guess it was rather decent on the whole despite some ultimate sucky papers like... Chem Paper 1. (That's not the only paper though, but yeah.) Results aren't coming out any time soon though, which makes me mad because if there's one thing I hate waiting for, it's results - especially major ones like this which pretty much determines the next step in life... But for now, I'm certain I deserve a good, long (relative) break. :D

So came the magical time 1515 on Tuesday the 12th which marked the start of my unofficial holidays. (Well I do have a week worth of lessons this week and two more weeks of lessons after the J1s are done with their OP, but there's kinda like, a 3 week "break" in between.)

Okay, on to post promo stuff. So I've been pretty much out every single day since tuesday, and pretty broke now (since I've been spending so much every single day) but I'm really, really happy. Shopping for Nana's present with Meena and Zee at Orchard followed by dinner and shopping with Yanying, Dhivya, Liqi and Xueci at Marina Square, lunch and shop with Enzyme and Sa at PP before heading down to TKGS to visit teachers and choir (and chatting with the forever awesome Miss Tong till Uncle Dollah had to remind her to lock up the backgate 5x.) (And yes ZY, it was awesome going back, and yes they changed their setwork to Oklahoma - it's a musical and I'm so jealous cos I'd rather study a musical over our dearest Haydn), dinner with Enzyme and Dian at Magic Wok, Chinatown and Cup Walker with Sam, dinner and dessert with Marisa (my manager as she likes to call it) and Gayle at Clarke Quay, RS Video Conference, Weekend Dinners with KM's family, and I was shown around KM's PGP hostel at NUS (which makes me more determined to study harder and get into a local uni, thank you for tour around and I like your hostel room haha!), massive spring cleaning in my room and caught Life As We Know It with Marie Low before dinner and strolling around Orchard/Somerset area and B&J's Strawberry Cheesecake.

Okay now you know why I'm broke yet happy. Haha!

And yes, had almost a 2.5hour talk over the phone with Yan Jun till almost 1am on Sat night/Sun morning, over an hour chat with Ying Er after church on Sunday afternoon (And the guy with five pianos, heehee :P), Amanda Loh over an hour on the phone on Sunday night/Monday morning SG time (and Sunday morning over at Utah) till something went wrong and the phone line got cut off and talking to Shuan (the slacker) now for an hour and a half thus far. D: And I still owe Rach her phonecall. I better call her tomorrow. Oops, D:

Okay more details tomorrow, I should get some sleep considering the number of hours I took to do Project Cleanup in my neat(er) and clean(er) room. And school's at 9am tomorrow with 2 hours' worth of lessons.

Goodnight folks. :D
Xoxo.

ten times three doesn't give you thirty

Sunday, 10/10/10, 2.08pm, SSC.
I was talking to Salted Pig and Sis M when my mobile rang and I was prompted to pick up the phonecall even though it was a foreign number which has been calling my mobile several times for the past few weeks especially during my peak pre-promo season. But boy, was I glad when I picked up the phone and heard this absolutely familiar (and tired, no doubt) voice over the phone...

Me: "Amanda Loh?"

If I wasn't at the 4th floor of the chapel in the SSC, donned in my dress and wearing the 4+ inches heel that I wore for my TK prom and standing at a crowded area, I might just jump for joy and scream across the corridors (but yes Jes is a demure girl and can control herself. Okay, and I definitely didn't want to fall on my heels, heehee.) :D

But yes, it was my dearest Amanda Loh Ming Hui over the phone, at a faraway land called Utah, a 14hours planeride away from where I'm sitting at this moment, over the phone. Today's really an awesome day, prolly the charm of 10/10/10? :D Didn't get to talk to her for a long time though, cos everyone wanted to talk to her and it didn't help when I had to rush off to the 3rd floor to attend a ward baptism.

Content-wise, it was short. But I got the gist of her message. Part of me just wanna fly over to Provo now and give you a hug. A small part of me just feels like, going over to a certain local uni to yank that person out and ask why is he doing this to you... I'm sure a part of you feels overjoy yet the other feels... Lost.

After promos, after promos, in two days,
I'll have a good hthtalk over skype or phonecall.
Meanwhile hang in there my dear girl, and stay courageous, lovely and bubbly like you've ever been.
Love you always (from the other end of the globe),
Xoxo.

PS: I'm not done with promos, left with 2 papers till tuesday afternoon. Proper posts after that alright.
