2010 in a nutshell.
2010 been such an unexpected year.
I never thought I would've come this far this year, but I survived. J1 all over again was such a scary experience at the beginning, but I made it through. In 2010, I've failed, fell, picked up broken pieces of my life, mugged, partied, sung, conducted, cried, laugh, smiled, got into trouble, broken my own heart, amended for my mistakes, completed Personal Progress, played, succeeded, lost and won. My entire family has been my main pillar of support. If it wasn't for them, I would've never have the courage to pick up from where I fall, to brave through J1 all over again. They encouraged me to repeat the year, to brave through the storm and become stronger than ever. They comforted me and perked me up when I felt weary and didn't want to move on with life because I was scared of what the future would hold. The ability to confide in a brother who was of similar age is simply comforting. The other has the ability to make me laugh despite our 6 years age gap. I know I haven't been the best daughter or sister because I'm hardly at home with them or even when I'm home, I end up spending time with my books or bed and I really am sorry about that. But in any case, thank you for everything you've provided me with - physically, mentally and spiritually. It's been a wonderful year spent with a cute bunch of classmates in 1002 running up and down from lectures to tutorials, watching you guys doing PW and spending time together. I was scared I couldn't fit in at the beginning of the year, but you guys made me feel comfortable and part of this whole class. I'm really glad and though it's gonna be a tough 2011 ahead, I'm sure we'll make it through. All my subject tutors have been great - I haven't been picked on just because I'm different from the rest. The times spent in with NYJChoir has been awesome. I guess by now most people would've known that singing's been a major part of my life and having to let it go temporarily (at this point of time) is asking me to remove a piece of flesh from my body. The days spent in choir certainly allowed me to grow and gain so much experience, more than I could ever ask for - in.harmoNY and Olomouc are some of the two most precious memories I hold close to my heart for this year. Singing a solo in front of an audience was a dream come true for me, and knowing that a good number of my friends who showed up to support me was simply heartwarming. I know I haven't been a great student conductor, but I'm so grateful to be given the privilege to work alongside with Gabriel Chew to serve the choir. I know I can be too fierce and demanding at times (And I'm really sorry about it) when it comes to the production of music (because I wanted the best out of it), but deep down, I know that everyone has tried their best and I can't ask for more. Being given the chance to conduct a choir has been something I never dared to dream about in the past, but I'm grateful for this (possibly) once in a lifetime opportunity given to me. I will never forget two special moments - one, the day I conducted for CCA Bazaar 2010 because it was the first time in my whole life conducting in front of an audience and two, the day I conducted the six songs consecutively at the lobby of VCH just hours prior to in.harmoNY because I remember it was the day I could fully sense all the emotions bursting out from me as the choir sung - the feeling was just, indescribable. It has really been a rewarding experience. To Gabchew, it's been great knowing you and being SC alongside with you - doing warmups, going round ensuring sectionals were working out fine, teaching basses, putting songs together, staying up at ungodly hours to type out comments after comments and deciding how to improve the choir... I really miss doing all these together with you and you've been such a fantastic BFF! To Mr Cheow & TT, thank you for all the invaluable advices and teachings imparted to Gab and I throughout this period of time. We have gained so much from the both of you. And to all the teachers-ic we have/had - Mrs Lee, Miss Ang, Mr Chua, Miss Sum & Mr Ng, thank you for dedicating your time and effort to choir for the past two years I've been in choir, it's been truly wonderful. To my choir exco members '09-10, you guys have been a major pillar of support in my JC life. Words just can't describe how I feel towards the whole bunch of you. Sure, we have our disagreements and disputes, but at the end of the day we'll manage to find a way to solve them. True, we tease each other over people, got into awkward & embarrassing situations, but we stick through thick and thin when people are down and lost. Maybe that's why we're close, because we know that we've each other to confide into when we're in need of help and share the happiness during joyous moments. I'll never forget the day when we got the results at the townsquare of Olomouc, how we were shedding tears of joy when it was announced that we attained the Gold for the folklore catogory. I miss our weekly friday dinners after choir where we end up chionging to the coffeeshop outside NY or to Bishan praying that food is still avaliable for us to eat, birthday celebrations where people starts throwing cakes at each other or reading fake love letters, mugging and hanging out together in the choir room, talking things out and letting off steam or just simply eating food baked by some other exco members. Thank you, to this whole bunch of BFFs, for being together with me in this amazing journey. To my AMK ward youth/not so youthful young YSAs, it's been a great year together, getting to really know each of you way better than before. Thank you for all the support you guys have given me throughout the year, constantly telling me not to burn myself out because I always have the tendency to and making me sing during every possible occasion and time. (DCFMA, no less) It really helped to boost my confidence and make me feel happy. And I'm really happy hanging out with y'all - activities, dinner and all that sort of things. Though you guys say that I'm too busy to hangout with you guys because of everything else (I'm sorry okay!), but I'm thankful for you guys being there for me whenever I needed it. To the rest of the churchies, it's been an awesome year with you guys. Attending weekly institutes never failed to perk me up, it's amazing how much I could learn within a short span of 1.5hours every week. And of course, there'll always be great company of friends, with Michael & Dennis trying to crack some lame joke, Shuan laughing at me everytime I arrive for the last 20minutes of the lesson, Amanda Xu texting me when I'll appear for institute, sharing ideas with Myra, Amanda Loh, Ally, Ying Er, Marie Low and the rest of the people... And how I've unknowingly been made to choose my own birthday cake unknowingly... (And carrying it all the way to Newton - that became the ultimate joke of the night.) Of course, all the firesides, activities, dances, sleepovers, outings and mugging in church prior to everyone else's A's that we had were superb too. Though some of you are going to BYU (Provo) or (Hawaii) next year, I really hope our friendship will remain this strong despite the distances betweeen us. To Sabrina, Jessica, Ee Chien, Sakina, Grace, Yi Qian, Yi Ying, Fiona, Marianne, Elsa, Deborah, Zheng Yuan, Kenneth, Travis, Pavadee, Shi Han, Gloria Lim, Sherlyn, Zee, Nana, Meena, Valerie Chew, Yi Ting, Hui Chin, Kar Hui, Xintao, Lewis, Cheung Weng and the rest if I happen to forget you (Sorry it's close to 2am in the morning and as you can see my brain is close to dying.) whom I basically group under friends from my TKGS/NY days, thank you for being there for me when I need someone to rant to/for all the mugging session (because I can't study at home for nuts D:)/outings/heart-to-heart talks... Though you guys aren't the people whom I get to see as often as the groups of people mentioned above, but you guys have been some of the most important people in my life thus far because we managed to stay as close friends despite being in different schools/classes, how we still manage to meet each other despite our hectic schedules and most importantly how I am able to confide in you whenever I feel troubled over various reasons or share good news when there's one. Thank you for being there for me through the good and bad times. I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led To those who help us most to grow If we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you - For Good, Wicked From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the love, support and encouragements, for without them, I would not be who I am today. 2010 has been amazing with you guys. 2011 isn't going to be easy, and I know it. There's so much I have to give up till the end of A levels. But I know I will make it through no matter how much I have to go through. I will not give up till I fought a good fight. And I hope the people who've been supporting me will continue to do so. Come December, I'm going to pick up voice and piano again, and this time, I'll see that I'll succeed. A levels, here I come! *charges* :D Happy 2011 in advance, because I'll be dancing my way to 2011. :D Xoxo

Do you know how I feel right now?
Like a fool, I wished Gabz &/or Oli were here with me right now for me to rant to them cos they're the perfect pair of people I can rant to wrt this. If only Gabz isn't in camp and Oli in Indo now, T.T Hope you can book out and come back to SG soon, Daddeh&Mummeh! (I miss both of you so much anyway, my couple BFFs. D:) But for now, Idk I'm just lost in my own little bubble of misery, confusion and myriad of negative emotions.

And make the rules as I go
I've been somewhat grounded today because the parentals found out I was running a fever last night, so I had to postpone my appointment with Val, Nana & Yiting today. ): Majorly sad because I can't see them plus I'm stuck within the 4 walls of the house, but oh well...
I guess it's a sign that I've been going out WAY TOO MUCH, 21 consecutive days to be exact. -.- Which might be a blessing in disguise considering how I really need the day off to rest physically, I guess. If I'm well enough by tonight, it'll be Sis Marlene's at 8am tomorrow morning followed by lunch with Chun Ling and Jasmine, Narnia (& plans of which I'm not certain for now till ZY confirms) with ZY, Jane, Travis & Kenneth on friday and YSA/SA phototrail on saturday afternoon (prays I don't have to run like crazy.) before... I don't know if there are (still) plans with Marisa, Gayle & Malia after though. Sunday's definitely church before practice with Marisa on piano and hopefully Marie Low on flute (if she's back from her dance competition in Taiwan and isn't excessively burnt out like me.) for my O Holy Night solo for the 23rd & her piece for her sacrament talk the next sunday. BAH MARISA you owe me big, big time for sabotaging me. AND ERIKA LEE TOO! (And what's with the Christmas script with me having to sing such a cheesy horrible song which makes me look like xiaocharbor with a universe-sized-balloon-head-ego?! I think I'd sing that you-know-what song 5 times! Jesmine is sad. D:) Hectic. Anyone who wants my mad schedule, take it. You're most welcome to. (: This, is why I said I need a break from my break. If only this was post A's schedule, I would've been more than happy to embrace it. Tough luck. I need a salubrious place to study. Obviously the house hasn't been a very successful one, considering how I've only done half of teejay's twentyten midyear compre paper for the whole of today. And it's three quarter of the day gone. (Okay I admit, I spent 2 hours on the phone with Sethrina who's happily trying so hard to bring my ex-scandal alive, again (-.-), texting quinne and ZY who was pretty much frustrated by 2 people who prolly discarded their mobilephones in the rubbishchute hence not reply her texts till I had to calm her down and agreed to help her bug them (Okay i didn't bug, i just asked em' to reply her lol.), using the thermometer every half an hour or something, eating a whole loaf of raisin bread (for breakfast and lunch), buy more bread cos Jace at home finished my share of bread, popping panadols of which I coincidentally happened to finish the last two of the packet of 10 and drinking 4cups of herbal tea and 5cups & 2bottles of water thus far. (Which results in the urge to answer nature's call every hour or something.) I'm so sorry I'm blabbering aimlessly but my braincells refuses to let me function coherently today. Hello stop burning my braincells, I'm lacking in them, and I can't afford to lose more than I've already lost since the not-so-good-ol' primary school days. Anyway I'm so relieved I've settled the Christmas presents to be given at home. (Though it did burn quite a deep hole in my pocket, many thanks to the 2 little boys in the house who have such/rather 'expensive' taste. But I think it should be worth it. ((: And the sense of achievement is like, wooh after wrapping them up. Happy me!) Need to get more presents for the friends though since I'm not done yet. I've given EC & Jes their shares when we met up for dinner yesterday, hope they liked it! (: (& EC, I'll pray that you'll get straight As so that you won't have to leave for Boston and leave me here. D:) More coherent post when I'm well enough to do so. Galvin's right - He told me that my blogposts somehow seem to be lengthy most of the time, and looking at it now, I kinda agree with him. Haha. Better finish the compre by tonight, Xoxo.

I'll be back in SG tmr anyway, so SHEEYA NEXT WEEK, WHOEVER I'M MEETING NEXT WEEK :D (Just realised next week is umm, almost packed too, with the exception of monday & thursday thus far, but then again, I'd like monday for myself to get some studying done and I'm most likely meeting Chun Ling & Jasmine on thursday unless I see them on Saturday night, but then again, might be going out with Marisa and co. after the phototrail on Saturday afternoon (Marisa, if you see this, don't say I didn't put you in my schedule kay! :D), so yeah. We'll see how things go. And to Gabz, Zhuo Hong & Cheung Weng who just entered NS on thurs and fri respectively for the 2 years of your lives, please take good care of yourselves yeah. Texted them cos I know they won't be able to read this anyway. Love my male BFF, ex-NYJChoir exco big brother and ex-01classmate. (: (Lol wrt all the ex-s I typed, :P) And to my dearest mummeh Olivia 'Like' Djawoto, have a safe trip back to Indo, and I can't wait to see you too! Don't be overly worried for Gabz okay, I'm certain he'll survive over at Tekong. And look after yourself too. Love you truckloads. Okay, adieu for now, Xoxo.

My head's spinning round right now
Wow my head hurts so bad right now.
And it doesn't help that I've a mad day ahead - sending Putt off at Changi Airport, meeting Sally & Athalie for the econs project which constitute 20% of block test results (double sighs) and going for a business dinner plus presentation tonight. Screw you headache. I shall pop two pills, take a little nap before meeting Gloria at 12.45pm at Paya Lebar. Zzz. Xoxo. |
