Hey! This is Jesmine but there are a thousand and one others out there who calls her Jia Min too! She's (finally) 18 and is more than happy to be showered with gifts on the nineth day of the third month each year. She's currently mugging in Nanyang Junior College with a bunch of cute people in 1002, but she still loves and misses her alma mater, TKGS together with her dearest 4e1 very very much. She ditched her 4-years long CCA, netball, for singing - both in choir and as a soloist (Just don't ask her to sing Don't Cry For Me, Argentina. It's Marisa's new ploy to watch a free show! And I know poor Bren's sick of playing it!) She's been stuck in Alto 2 in choir for a good ol' 5 years while her dearest conductor is still deciding whether to leave her there or transfer her somewhere else, but she takes the performing role of a mezzosoprano as a soloist (and communicate her 3-octave range using her perfect pitch to her rocking friends who in turn gives her nicknames of innate objects such as tuning fork, piano and amplifier. :/) Oops, she nearly forgot to mention that she was a part of the Superwomen(Student Welfare) committee of the Prefectorial Board back in the good ol' TKGS days. She's awesomely proud to be an Latter-Day Saint, and savouring her last year as a Laurel before she gets kicked out of YW. She loves her family and friends to bits, and in her (very little) free time, adores chilling out with her friends, attend concerts, shopping (and window shopping too. Money don't fall from the sky, y'know.), singing, tinkling on the piano, blogging, FBing and there's so much more she'll prolly need a thousand pages for her to fill up her "LOVES&HOBBIES" section. Flowers, cute huggable soft toys, helium balloons and (hand-written) letters and notes are some of her favourite things.♥

PS: I can/can't believe you just spent/wasted 5 minutes of your life reading her introductory speech. Btw, she LOVES people who tag on her tagboard, so do make sure you let her know that you were here! Have an awesome day anyway! (:

Two lives have begun now, two hearts become one now

Charmaine Tan Xin Yi, this is for you. (Be grateful please! :D)

I know it's been days since the end of concert and I've really lagged in posting here, but here I am. :) I'm still suffering from post-concert hangover though. ):

So, in.harmoNY 2010 was an awesome experience for me! (Minus the lack of microphones, which I really hate to say, was inevitable, but I'm sure we made the best use of whatever we could make do with.) :)
In one night, I fulfilled two of my new year resolutions - The first being to sing to a fullhouse with the choir. The feeling's really, really awesome, and it's really quite some experience, in all honesty. I admit, it may not have been the best choir or the best performance, but it's one of the performance which I genuinely enjoyed performing the most. The second, (I don't really think anyone would have known) was performing the solo. Despite having to don myself in the big, fat teapot costume, (Thank you costume comm for doing a really great job, really. Even though I always whine and whine but I'm genuinely impressed by the costumes you guys came up with despite the limited resources. Thank you so much!) I got to experience how it was like to stand in front of a fullhouse to sing to my heart's content, to express my feelings and thoughts openly through song, to act publicly (Okay I know I kinda sucked at this part, cos I can't really act to begin with, sorry. Thank goodness I managed not to laugh and pulled a straight face in front of Asaph during the defending-Belle part), to dance (which was honestly quite fun, though I was on the verge of whacking Yan Jun live on stage because of something he said during the waltz for transformation on stage but I think I ended up laughing instead! Thank goodness it wasn't obvious from the floor, heehee.) and to basically enjoy what I was doing. I just can't explain the feeling - it's really so special, and it's a memory that will probably hold close to my heart in a long, long while.

So thank you, NYJChoir, for making this concert a memorable one. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way; I'm pretty sure you guys do too.) I remembered a period of time feeling scared, (thanks to bad experience from the past) but you all manage to allay my fears. For all the hardwork that you guys put in, for all the pep talks and scoldings and all that you guys had to bear, for the never-die spirit you guys displayed, for the beautiful memories each and everyone of you have created for me, thank you. :D I remember working with almost every section - but predominantly with the altos and basses. (More of basses though - thank Gabz for constantly pulling me away from my alto girls; I'm really sorry, I wished I could have spent more time practicing with you guys but I'm sure Nabi and Charm did a fantastic job in polishing the altos tonal quality.) I'm really glad to be able to work with each and every one of you which sure did let me know you guys better. (:

To my dear exco (Admin + Musico), I'm sure you guys know how much the 13+1(Seehow) mean to me. We went through thick and thin together, and though we do have our fair share of arguements and what not, we learn and grow from wherever we started off. You know, I've learnt a lot from you guys from the past year and I'm eternally grateful for everything you guys have done for me. I hope we'll still be this closely-knitted even after we stepped down and graduate and all. (: Choir will never be the same without you guys - I'll miss the choir practices with you all, our weekly friday dinners, our gossips (LOL.), heart-to-heart talks, etc... I'll miss you guys and I LOVE YOU GUYS VERY MUCH. :)

To the soloists of the night, thank you for making me so proud of you guys! I was really really glad you guys did such a wonderful job on Saturday night despite not having microphones and plenty of restrictions. But I'm sure the audience did enjoy our B&B from the amount of laughter I heard that night. It's been awesome working with you guys on the songs for B&B together with Gabz and Oli and everyone else there. Awesome job! :D

To TT, Gabcheow, Mrs Lee, Miss Ang & Mr Chua, thank you for believing in me, and all us, that we can make it this far. Thank you for having the faith in us and for all the behind-the-scene hardwork that you all have put in for us. :)

Publicity comm, Costume comm & Props comm, you guys did a fantastic job in your respective areas and your hardwork definitely paid off! :D Great job on the publicity - it's a sold out concert!, costumes that took up so much time to be made and props though we didn't get to use everything in the end, but your hard work can be seen by us :D Thank you guys! :D

And to the groups of people who came over to support me and the others for the concert - my dad and Jace, the cousins, LDS youths & YSA people, 0901 people, VJchoir people, ex-TKGchoir A2 girls, my ex-4e1 BFFs and Sam(though I didn't get to see you, HAHA!), thank you for showing up to support me. You guys made my night EXTRA SPECIAL because this concert would be nothing without you guys being a part of the audience! And thank you for patiently waiting for me outside the backstage and downstairs even though I took wayyyyyyyyyy too long to change out and pack up my stuff - you guys totally threw me off my feet when I walked out to find 3 groups of people standing and waiting right outside the backstage, followed by 2 groups behind and the rest downstairs.
And thank you for the lovely flowers, bouquets, chocolates, helium balloons and presents from Zhu Yi, Michelle (the Cousin-in-law :D), Jace, Kar Mun, Marisa, Gayle, Bryan, Leslie, Galvin, Cookie, Rachel, Sis Serene, Sis June, Meena, Zee, Nana, Yi Qian, Michelle Wong, Kenneth, Enzyme, Bero, Malian, Fee, Sab and Sam Tan! I really appreciate and love everything! (Though the chocolates have to wait till 5th June before I can consume them, haha! I will abstain KM! :D) Love you guys loads! :D
